Will Google Chrome OS Matter?

With a tech-oriented blogosphere a buzz over Google announcement of its Google Chrome Operating System scheduled for release in late 2010, its important to read both a positive and negative impressions of the announcement. TechCrunch has a write-up that suggests it is a game changer and the most through if somewhat NSFW debunking of the OS’s potential greatest is in “The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs” as Daniel Lyons skewers the idea that a Google OS will immediate kill Microsoft Windows.

Unless the Google Chrome OS is something more than a stripped down Linux distro with the Google Chrome browser running on start-up I don’t see what the point is.
