Time Team America: Flawed But Interesting

The description of PBS’s new series Time Team America state that it “sends archaeologists on a race against time to excavate historic sites around the nation. The team has 72 hours to uncover the buried secrets of their assigned digs using the latest technology, decades of expertise and their own sharp wits.”

In fact judging by three episodes the team has 72 hours to use ground penetrating radar and other geophysical methods to create a very loose map of possibly important sites and then conduct the first couple of days of a multi-year dig.

Fortunately it seems that the archaeologists continuing the digs are providing updates of what’s uncovered.
