Apple has quickly patched three bugs in its Safari for Windows beta web browser including the remote code execution flaw due to an incorrect URL protocol handler implementation. At the same time it announced that there has been 1 million downloads of Safari for Windows in the two days since the beta was released.
While a million downloads is impressive the question is how many will be using it in a month or even a week. Provided it does not change your default browser settings trying out a web browser other than Internet Explorer is quite easy and the million downloads can just be a sign of people wanting to see what Steve Jobs was talking about and not any intention of switching.
