MSNBC has articles on two important announcements from NASA this week. On Monday NASA announced its plans for a base on the moon with a permanent manned presence by 2024, four years after returning to the moon. The base will likely be located at one of the poles. Today there was the announcement of the possible discovery of flowing water on the surface of Mars by observing changing features within gullies on the Martian surface.
With the arrival of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and its powerful HiRise camera, if flash floods occur on Mars its likely only a matter time before one is photographed.
