Ynetnews.com has a detailed breakdown by an Israeli “senior defense establishment official” of the casualties suffered by the Israeli Armoured Corps during the fighting in Lebanon. The article states that with a “few thousand antitank missiles” fired at them:

“Fifty Israel Defense Forces tanks were damaged during the 34 day war in Lebanon , 30 soldiers and officers from the corps were killed and more than 100 were injured, including two battalion commanders. These are the statistics from the recent conflict.

Twenty-two tanks sustained hits that penetrated their steal armor (in ten of the tanks, there were 23 fatalities; in the rest, severe damage was caused to the vehicle).

As stated by the official, the major source of casualties were antitank missiles, most of them Russian made, from Syria or Iraq. One Russian missile the Kornet is believed to have caused the loss of some U.S. Abrams M1 tanks during the invasion of Iraq and Syria received over a thousand Kornets. Russia denies that Hizbullah used any Russian-produced anti-tank missiles during the fighting.
